 autopoiesis, llc is a design and strategy firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Autopoiesis means "self-organizing", and it describes our living systems approach to the regeneration of communities, ecosystems, and economies. We bring 30 years of experience in three related areas: design as life including buildings, small communities, and healing centers; ecological planning from site to bioregional scales supporting biodiversity and community health; and systems transformation through process design, convening, mapping, transdisciplinary research and ethnovideography.
